Today was a very bitter sweet day...Riley's last day at LMPH. This is where she has learned and been loved for the last 4 1/2 years. We LOVE this place. Its nothing fancy, more like a home than a school (actually, it is someone's home!). It doesn't have that "institutional" feel that some daycares/schools have. And I've always said that if I am not the one loving them during the day, someone better be doing it! The teachers are amazing and smother those kids in hugs and kisses every day. They know every inch of Riley's personality, her wants and needs, and can read her like a book. The saddest part is that she is leaving Zander. Not because they will never see other again, but because they have never been apart. Riley is only 10 weeks older than Zander. Since birth, they went to Grandma's together, and then LMPH. They have been together every.single.day. for 4 1/2 years. They don't always play together, but I swear they have that twin vibe going on between them. They always just "know" what's going on with the other. The time Riley clobbered a kid with a toy hammer because he was picking on Zander is a whole different post! So, we had an ice cream sundae party today for Riley's friends - the kids she has been with since was 4 months old. It is a sad chapter to close, but she will still visit when we pick Jack up in the afternoons and playdates are already on the agenda. We are all excited and anxious to see what challenges are ahead with TK!
