Some great friends of ours asked us to join them in Roaring Gap for a little R&R this weekend, and we were happy to oblige! Roaring Gap is a beautiful mountain community, and we enjoyed everything it had to offer. It helped that the weather was about 80 degrees and sunny. Perfect for lots of swimming, grilling out, and running all day!
Riley thought this was so cool...she was in the water for all of 2 minutes when she surfaced with a handful of teeny-tiny minnows. They were everywhere!

Hayden and Riley caught everything from fish, to salamanders, to butterflies!
Poor salamander...they were quick to let them go, but not before playing with them!
There was lots of splashing!
There was lots of swimming and walking along the sand!
And there was LOTS of relaxing! Linc was more disappointed to leave today than the kids were. Any trip where the kids have THAT much fun, and the parents are THAT relaxed, is a win/win!
