We got the early call this morning that school was closed in anticipation of the HUGE winter storm headed our way. Always an exciting call to wake up to. However....the HUGE amount of snow and ice that was expected was quite a disappointment in our neck of the woods. We waited, and waited, and waited, until we saw just a few flurries begin around 4pm. Nevertheless, we made the most out of the day hanging with friends and enjoying not having a schedule. Now that there's something on the ground and lots of freezing rain coming down, we're crossing our fingers for another day home tomorrow!

sleepy heads...just out of bed and hoping for a very "white" day

they canceled school for this?? (12pm)

finally, a glimmer of white around 4pm. we got a respectful amount and lots of ice coming down.

we decided to make cookies with emma. jack LOVES this.

the girls cutting out all of their designs

since making cookies at grandma's over christmas, jack is a pro

the two best parts of making/decorating cookies...licking your fingers....

and enjoying the final product!
now...patiently waiting and watching the news to see the status of school for tomorrow. being a teacher brings back all the old feelings of anticipating a snow day. fingers crossed!!
