Super Patient!

Everyone has always said how much Riley is just like me...she has my eyes, my lips, my, my personality, and unfortunately, my ears. Our first trip for tubes was when she was 13 months old. It was a good remedy for awhile, but we started having problems again about 3 months ago. So, we headed in this morning for a second set of tubes, along with an adnoidectomy. Our little sassy pants is such a trooper! Once she drank the "magic juice", she was quite entertaining! She had all of the doctors and nurses laughing - every time one of them walked into the room, she would giggle and tell them they had two heads, and at one point she saw "spider webs" all over the bed sheet, which sent her into laughter :-) I decided it was probably a good preview of what she is going to be like on her 21st birthday!
Having your baby put to sleep for any amount of time is pretty nerve wrecking. She was out for about 30 minutes and it took awhile for her to recover from the anesthesia. The ear tubes are a quick (immediate) recovery, but the adnoidectomy will take her a couple of days. Unfortunately, daddy had to go out of town this weekend to attend his Grandpa's funeral, but I am sure he will smother Riley with hugs and kisses the minute he gets back. Luckily, we have Grandma and Grandpa to help take care of us, and Jack. As for now, she is resting comfortably with all of her lovies, watching DVD's, and anticipating the milk shake her friend Hayden is bringing her later this afternoon!

Showing off her stylish gown and socks. The socks became very interesting once the magic juice kicked in :-)

Starting to get a little nervous, but still a trooper!

Once we got home....pretty pathetic

In bed with her lovies, watching DVD's - we'll probably be here for a day or two!
